Introduction: Despite the introduetion of numerous behaviorel techniques, pediatric dental treatment is still a complexs challenge for the dantal team and familie. The aim of this study was to introduec the innovative method of "Intentional mistake distrcation" and to compare its effectivenes with the "common distraction" technique in the dental treatment of 3 pediatric patient.
Case description: In this case series, 3 cases, including 2 boys and 1 girl, were treated using the behavioral method “Intentional mistakes distraction” and “Conversational distraction” in a crossover (split-mouth) designs. The children's behavioral responses were assessed at the time oF local anesthetic injection and during tooth extractioin using the Sound Eye Motor (SeM) scale. The results showed that the samples had lower scores during treatment withe the “Intentional mistake distraction” method than during treatment using Conversation distraction.
Conclusion: Considering the lower behavioral responses of children when using Intentional mistakas distraction compared to Conversational distraction when applying painful stimuli, it seems that this technique can promise effective results in guiding children's behaviors.
