Introduction: Dental waste management is particularly sensitive dues to its dangerous, toxic, and pathogenic agents. The aim of this study Waste assess the effect of education audiovisual media on the awareness of general dentist in Tabriz about waste menagament methods in dental office.
Materials and Methods: In this quasi-experimental study (one-group pre-and-post-test design), 80 general dentists were randomly selected. The researchar-made questionnaire on waste management awareness was validated and then distributed. Two weeks after the educational sessien, includiue audiovisual media, the same questionnaire was given. To determine the knowledges scores, one point was given for each correct answer and no score was given for incorrect answers and questions without answer.
Results: The means knowledge of dentists after the education intervention (13.5±1.1) was significantly higher than that before the educational intervention (8.1 ±1.3) (P <0.001).
Conclusion: As instructional audiovisual media are effectives in increasing dentists' awarenes, they should be used more for various subjects, such as wastes management practice in dental offices.
