en اثرات انحراف بینی و چانه نسبت به خط وسط دندان‌ها بر جذابیت ظاهری صورت Effects of Nasal and Chin Deviations Relative to the Dental Midline on Perceived Facial Attractiveness ارتودنتیکس Orthodontics مقاله پژوهشي Research Paper مقدمه: جذابیت چهره نقش مهمی در تعاملات اجتماعی ایفا می‌کند و خط میانی دندان و لبخند از عوامل کلیدی در ادراک زیبایی هستند. هدف از این مطالعه بررسی تأثیر انحراف بینی و چانه نسبت به خط میانی دندان بر جذابیت درک شده صورت در بین افراد عادی، دانشجویان سال آخر دندانپزشکی و متخصصان دندانپزشکی بود. مواد و روشها: در این مطالعه مشاهده‌ای-تحلیلی، ۱۲۶ مشاهده‌گر (۴۲ نفر از هر گروه) تصاویر دیجیتالی تغییر یافته از یک مدل خانم با انحراف بینی و چانه ۳ میلی‌متری به سمت چپ، همراه با جابجایی‌های مختلف خط میانی دندان (از ۲ میلی‌متر به راست تا ۴ میلی‌متر به چپ با افزایش ۱ میلی‌متر) را ارزیابی کردند. مشاهده‌گرها تصاویر را با استفاده از مقیاس ۵ نقطه‌ای لیکرت برای زیبایی‌شناسی و جذابیت ارزیابی کردند. تجزیه و تحلیل‌های آماری شامل آزمون‌های کروسکال-والیس، من-ویتنی و ویلکاکسون (α=0.05) بود. یافته‌ها: افراد عادی، انحراف به چپ ۱ تا ۳ میلی‌متر (همسو با انحراف بینی و چانه) را به طور قابل توجهی متفاوت از تصویر متقارن ندیدند، اما انحراف به راست و انحراف ۴ میلی‌متری به چپ را کمتر جذاب یافتند (p=0.004، p<0.001 و p=0.002). دانشجویان دندانپزشکی همه انحرافات را به جز انحراف ۱ میلی‌متری به چپ، به طور قابل توجهی متفاوت تشخیص دادند. متخصصان همه انحرافات را از نظر آماری معنی‌دار دانستند  (p<0.001). هیچ تفاوت معنی‌داری بین ناظران عادی مرد و زن یافت نشد. نتیجه‌گیری: انحراف خط وسط دندان باید در رابطه با تقارن کلی صورت، نه به صورت جداگانه ارزیابی شود. هنگامی که انحراف در همان جهت عدم تقارن بینی و چانه باشد، اصلاح ممکن است مزایای زیبایی محدودی داشته باشد. بنابراین، تصمیمات درمانی باید عدم تقارن صورت و انتظارات بیمار را قبل از دنبال کردن اصلاح پیچیده خط وسط، در نظر بگیرند. Introduction: Facial attractiveness plays a crucial role in social interactions, with the dental midline and smile being key factors in aesthetic perception. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of nasal and chin deviations relative to the dental midline on perceived facial attractiveness among laypersons, final-year dental students, and dental specialists. Materials & Methods: In this observational-analytical study, 126 observers (42 from each group) evaluated digitally altered images of a female model with a 3 mm leftward nasal and chin deviation, along with varying dental midline shifts (from 2 mm right to 4 mm left in 1 mm increments). Observers rated the images using a 5-point Likert scale for aesthetics and attractiveness. Statistical analyses included Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney, and Wilcoxon tests (α=0.05). Results: Laypersons did not significantly perceive leftward shifts of 1 to 3 mm (aligned with the nasal and chin deviation) as different from the symmetric image, but found rightward shifts and a 4 mm leftward shift less attractive (p=0.004, p<0.001, and p=0.002). Dental students detected all shifts except the 1 mm leftward deviation as significantly different. Specialists identified all deviations as statistically significant (p<0.001). No significant differences were found between male and female lay observers. Conclusion: Dental midline deviations should be assessed in relation to overall facial symmetry rather than in isolation. When the deviation is in the same direction as nasal and chin asymmetry, correction may offer limited esthetic benefit.
